New!

We have too many beautiful stones around to put off creating rings. Some gemstones call for simple designs, because really, the stone says it all.

The Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer

I have a poster of Degas' The Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer in my room. It is the first thing you see when you walk in. I like to think of the poster as a no-fail optimism-boost for whenever my spirit needs lifting.

The Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer is very much a Degas piece (it is, after all, a sculpture of a ballerina), but to me, it somehow stands apart from his other works of art. There's something so sweet and pure about the sculpture; she stands so proudly, facing a world of possibilities, with feet poised to take her next sprightly step. Will her dreams of becoming a prima ballerina come true? Marry her true love? Get through 9th grade? :)

The Fourteen-Year-Old is my model of hopeful fancies and dreams of what is yet to come.

Speaking of what is yet to come, Wishgiving has a new site, with convenient, user-friendly functions, and hundreds (okay, maybe hundred) of new designs. This time around, we've done more experimentations with shapes and movements, as colors and textures of gemstones have always been our major inspirational force. There are so many new, exciting things happening with Wishgiving. We can't wait to show you!

I'll leave you with more pictures of one of my daily inspirations:

Peace Pilgrim

In my mind, being an english major doesn't prepare me to write a profound book review, so I won't even try.

I'll just say this: Peace Pilgrim: Her Life and Work in Her Own Words is something you must read. Her words drew such strong reactions from me; something within me shifted and fell into place.

Read it. You won't regret it.
